Burning type grenades and projectiles are commonly used by law enforcement officers in riots and civil disorders. They are used for several purposes, primarily for determining the direction of the wind and have a definite psychological effects on crowds. Smoke grenades can be used in conjunction with either a CN or CS grenade; and the smoke from them will mix with the smoke from the burning type grenade and carry the chemicals to the desired area.
