Hazardous Chemicals

In this section you will find information regarding various chemicals used in tear gas and pepper spray aerosols, cited from independent and scientifically recognized sources. The data includes chemical compositions, synonyms, molecular formula and weight, standards and regulations as well as toxicological, biological, pharmacological and environmental hazards. Related scientific journals are also referenced. Since the same chemical can have a variety of synonyms, all chemicals are therefore listed by CAS registry number to avoid misidentification. (Chemical Abstract Services "CAS" is a world recognized chemical registration system). CAS numbers are usually listed on the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). You can also use the SEARCH feature by typing chemical name or the CAS number (include dashes "-" during CAS search and type the entire number). If you cannot find a chemical, ZARC can research and provide you the information for a fee.
