Mixing of OC with CS or CN

There are pepper clone manufacturers who are under the erroneous impression that mixing OC with other chemical agents, such as CN or CS, makes a "stronger" product; an error that can prove to be harmful or even fatal in real life situations. Mixing several chemical agents has never proven productive and safe throughout chemical agent history. Each agent has its own unique characteristics and mixing several chemicals can deviate from the original property of the chemical. The following should be evaluated:

  • Has adequate biological testing been performed to evaluate the possibility of tumorigen (tumor producing) and cancer promotion of this mixture?
  • Has adequate toxicological testing been performed to evaluate:

    Eye* damage?

    Skin damage?

    Allergic response?

    Inhalation toxicity?

  • Has the amount of chemical airborne before it is fatal to 50% of subject exposed (LC50) been determined?
  • Does the mixture of CS or CN with OC elevate the contamination of the subject and the environment?

* The above questions should be seriously evaluated by a toxicologist, since the mixture of CS with OC in pepper sprays has caused documented eye injury and blindness.
